Ah, where to start? I know that I have been offline a bit lately, mostly due to my trip to Mexico, my new job and general tiredness. Also, twitter (as displayed over there --> on the sidebar under "what's up with Noelle") is allowing me to micro blog more frequently, and thus takes the wind out of my sails a bit when it comes to full blown essays. Anyway, I thought I would post a little catch-up for those of you who are still paying attention.
Mexico:Wendy, Dan, Aki, Rachel, Chris and I headed down to Nueva Vallarta last week to Chris's timeshare. It's pretty much just like the timeshare in Cancun, except on the other side of the country. It was warm there (like 90) and humid. We had a few days at the pool, just chillin', went down to Puerto Vallarta for an afternoon of good food and not that interesting everything else, and generally hung out a lot.
Highlights of the trip included:
- A canopy zip line tour, which had 9 zip lines and a repel at the end of like 75 feet, which feels a lot higher when you are at the top than when you are at the bottom. Also featured here were 2 hour-long drives in what can only be deemed as a Mexican Military truck, giant spiders (like the size of your hand) and a bunch of wacky mexicans in trees.
- A cruise on a trimaran, snorkeling, and a secluded beach rest (Chris went hiking to a waterfall, but the rest of us were lazy). Snorkeling was "meh" but we did get to pet a very concerned looking puffer fish, and we had a "wet 'n' wild" ride back as a storm rolled in at the bow of the boat. Somehow, we all thought this was grand fun, even though the rest of the passengers looked like wet cats.
- Some damned fine food at the taco shack
- A crappy fiesta night made into some cool fun by a power outage. Good Mexican hot chocolate was had by all.
- Thunderstorms almost every night made the sky light up and the rain fall. We all thought it was beautiful and allowed us to stay in and play games every evening.
Job:So, for those of you who do not know, I work at a place called Playphone now. We sell mobile games, wallpapers, ringtones, etc. We also build sites that sell these things for crazy clients. For example, I am currently working on ones for Disney, Real Arcade, National Geographic, and Bravo TV. I am in charge of Web production, so basically, I am a project manager/babysitter.
I have not yet figured out what I think about this job yet. I have good days and really retarded days full of discipline problems on the part of all parties. It could be a really easy job, if we can manage to get some processes in place. At this point, it will be up to me to get those processes in pace. Fun. We'll see how it goes, jury is still out on this one.
What else?Pumpkin Party is next weekend - I hope to see you all there. Im keepin' it mellow this year.
Thanksgiving - We'll probably have a small gathering, so let me know if you are in town and need to be fed.
Chris Cornell is playing in SF on Halloween - Chris and I have tix. If you are interested, grab some too.
Crystal Method is playing on November 15th at Ruby Skye. Wendy, Dan, Chris, and I are going. If you are interested, grab some tix.
Ok, I think that is my general update. Feel free to post yours up here too.
