So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what Dad has said.

Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parent's room and finds his mother asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny.

He gives up and goes back to bed.

The next morning, the little boy says to his father, 'Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now.'

The father says, 'Good, son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about.'

The little boy replies, 'The President is screwing the Working Class while the Government is sound asleep. The People are being ignored and the Future is in deep sh**'

The lost Sunday I figured out was spent at the farmer's market with Wendy and then lunch - which was so relaxing that I guess it totally vacated my brain!

Between yesterday and today i have painted the other window sill, filled in the wanes coating in the living room with spackle, thus preparing it to be painted possibly as early as this weekend/next week, and started on the trim and doors in the hallway. Dude! There are SIX doors in the hallway that need to be painted inside and out! No small feat! I do have all the way down to the cat room done on one side and will continue to plug along. I am splitting it into sections so I don't get discouraged and that seems to be working ok.

Man, I Have a TON of projects I wanna do. I could be out for 3 months and still be working on stuff Every time I pass by an area, I think "Oh yeah, i kinda wanted to XYZ also... I should add that to my list." At least I am getting some of it done.

All that and I mange to have a lunch date every day, and today I even went in on a job interview. Tomorrow is Lunch with Nathan, possibly some painting, and then dinner and a movie with Wendy. Crystal's bridal shower is this weekend as well so I am keeping busy!

Let's see.. Friday I had a lunch date with Craig and Jeremy, some Shaklee ex-pats who now work at Apple. I cleaned up our bedroom, which took a lot longer than one would expect, and then headed over to Lafayette for dinner with the family because my cousin was graduating on Saturday from St. Mary's College in Moraga.

Guess what I did Saturday? That's right: more fun with family! Have I mentioned that they have not seen my ring? My grandma and mother were a nightmare and I was glad to finally get out of there and get back for some hot Indy action. We went to see Indiana Jones that night, which was fun, if not at least funny. Yeah, it was far fetched, but so what? It's Indy.

Sunday we went on a photo trek up the coast and got some yummy Greek food at vasilli's. Wow, i thought I got more done than that, but I guess not.

Monday we went to Dave and Micky's house for BBQ and fun.

Yesterday I had lunch with Chris and Wendy and then went to OSH, got some plants for the walkway and some painting supplies. I ended up painting the inside of the front door and also one of the sills in the living room. The other sill and the hallway trim are on tap for this week as well.

At least I am getting some stuff done...

i think pretty much everyone who reads nools blog is up in the bay area but us socal people could use some help.

basically they are trying to extend an existing toll road through one of the last open areas of south orange county in an effort to "relieve traffic". if you actually look at where the proposed road would go it just doesn't make sense. in reality all it would do is relieve orange county of one of the last open spaces we have, (most of the supporters are developers, go figure), relieve traffic for the real housewives of orange county on their san diego trips (it takes a while to get to the freeway from coto on surface streets unless you take the existing northbound toll road), relieve some native americans of an ancient burial ground, and relieve san onofre state park of much of its natural beauty.

Was pretty friggn' rad if you ask me. There were like 9 fiddles and violins of all different types, as well as a full band and a cello and a stand up bass, jammin on stage. They even whipped out Kashmir (Led Zeppelin) as their encore. Much better than I expected it to be!

I am very baffled that I kind of love this...

You'd think I would have more time for blogging what with not working and all, but it turns out that I am working on the GSD list hard enough that that is not so. Anyway, here's a small catch up since Friday:

Friday: Narnia. ummmmmmmmm, good, but long and I was almost bored at times. It is pretty though and if you are into the series, I think you will like it. I would say, go to a matinée.

Weekend: Chris and I went up to Guyserville in Sonoma county for a getaway weekend. We stayed in a cute little inn and visited a few wineries. The Cappola winery was a highlight as the estate is beautiful, and we, of course, came home with a few bottles. We also had some lovely drives through Nappa and we ate at the Culinary Academy for dinner on Saturday which was Yummers, but I was not feeling very well, so I don't think I got to enjoy it all as much as I should have.

Monday: I cleaned my room top to bottom and I feel very successful in that and also the living room got a good scrub down. We had a gift certificate to La Fondue so we decided to go there for dinner and had a wonderful meal (BTW, did you guys know it moved? Well, it's down the street a bit and is totally different inside now.)

Tuesday: Got in a car with Deanne (Alex's wife) who is in town to see her new nephew and to pick up her kitties for their trip to their new home in London. We drove 12 hours to Santa Barbara and back to get them from the guy who was watching them for the last 6 months (complicated vaccination issues happen when you wanna bring your cats to your new island-home). The trip was successful and fun and I am so glad to not be in the car right now... which brings me to today.

Today: So far, I have sent Deanne and the kitties on their way, had lunch at stacks with Chris, weeded the Dahlia garden and the sage garden and 1/2 of the back flower gaden and raked the back lawn. I am hoping to weed and feed back there and possibly water, before showering and heading off to see Bowfre tonight with Wendy, Dan, Amber, and Stephy... in Oakland... at 8. More driving. Oh boy. :-)

I'll let ya know how that went next update! By the way, if any of you would like to have lunch sometime, let me know while the offer is open - at some point soon, I will have to get a job. :-)

Well, it's my last day here and I am kinda sad because I really like these folks and I dig the job and it has been the first time in a long time that my job has not made me totally stressed out. It was a good run, and hopefully I will run into these folks again sometime. For now, I am looking at at least a short vacation where I can GSD (get shit done). My GSD list is pretty long at this point so I am hoping to knock out at least one project a day on the days where I am not traveling or trying to soak in the cultural and natural surroundings that abound in this area. I feel like we take those for granted and don't go enjoy them enough so I will be making pilgrimages to Golden Gate park and other points of interest as much as possible. I refuse to let this "vacation" stress me out. :-)

I feel really happy about this. I fee like California is one of the few places where you can feel more comfortable to be who you are and when they take away the right of two people who love eachother to get married, I don't care what sex you are, I feel like that betrays what California is. I feel like things are back to being ok now on that front and that makes me really pleased.

The Weinstein Co. will adapt the Jim Henson series Fraggle Rock into a live-action musical feature, Variety reported. Cory Edwards (Hoodwinked!) will direct the film and write the screenplay. The Jim Henson Co. will produce and The Weinstein Co. will distribute.

Just like the series, the film will be populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock muppets. It will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans who they think are aliens. [more]

It pretty much sums up how I feel about Obama. I feel like he promises the impossible and if he doesn't deliver, it will be a huge blow to the party and also to the words "change" and "hope". Saturday, May 3 is international Shutdown Day. The idea is simple, if slightly insane: Turn off your computer and leave it off for 24 hours. I intend on shutting down all day. However, I can cheat with my iPhone. You know, that is one of the advantages of the phone for me, I don't spend nearly as much time on my computer at home as I used to. My email goes straight to my pocket... at the same time, I have also managed to avoid being one of those annoying blackberry people who is nodding and saying "uh hu" all the way through dinner whilst staring at their phone and playing with the scroll wheel. It's all about balance.
