Should he grow the fro?

RE: Schwarzenegger's budget proposes closing 48 state parks
how silly. the idea of lowering the life guard count at san clemente especially. i was "saved" against my will by a lifeguard there once. i just wanted to swim back in (which zac did no problem) but noooooooooo! he just had to save me

and he wasn't even that dreamy or anything. oh well

LOL!!!!!!! Tom Cruise at the top of his game!
OMG - so funny!!!

1st:
You have to watch this video. It shows Tom Cruise, with all the wide-eyed fervor that he brings to the promotion of a movie, making the argument for Scientology, the bizarre 20th-century religion. Making the argument is an understatement. The Hollywood actor, star of movies such as Mission Impossible, is a complete fanatic. "When you're a Scientologist, and you drive by an accident, you know you have to do something about it, because you know you're the only one who can really help... We are the way to happiness. We can bring peace and unite cultures." There's much much more. Let me put it this way: if Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch was an 8 on the scale of scary, this is a 10.

See Video Here - and man, it's a doosey!

Best comment by a user:
I'm so happy, I thetaned in my pants a little.

THEN: in response, the LOLcatters out there made a TomCat video:

Schwarzenegger's budget proposes closing 48 state parks
Noelle's Note: To be fair here, Apparently, the parks cost a LOT more than they make for the state and there's some argument to keep critical functions running rather than staff parks. However, perhaps if we could get all the state legislators to fly coach instead of first class, we could save some cash as well...

From north to south, here are the 48 state parks, beaches, reserves and recreation areas that Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is proposing to close to help balance the state budget. The parks would be closed until enough money is available to reopen them. The governor's office also said some parks could be turned over to local governments to operate.

Re: WTF?
If my life were a high-concept movie, it would be The Bourne Supremacy (2004) meets Ocean's Eleven (2001).

Nice! I can live with that.

Random things I learned today
You *can* get electrocuted if you are taking a shower during a thunderstorm.

Martha Stewart has been "hit by lightning" twice in her life. Once while washing dishes and once while in a brass bed (both during a thunderstorm).

Chicken soup really help you fight a cold.

Carrots do not improve your eyesight. It was made up during WWII to cover up the use of RADAR - they told people that the fighter pilots just ate a lot of carrots.

HAHAHAHAHA! Random video

How do you make a mistake like that?

Democratic Presidential Debates on CNN tonight
in South Carolina. Here's the link to the article and it has links to the transcripts, etc. in case you are interested.

I hope you all intend on voting - we need to make sure this never happens again, and the only way to do that is to vote.

Weekend Report
So this weekend I finally went through the stuff in the garage...

I got to the point that every time I thought about it, I would cry, and I needed it to just be done.

I think I got rid of like 2/3 of what was in there - 2 truckloads went to the dump and the recycling container is sort of rediculous. I have found that own an absurd amount of glasses, I have no idea why I need so much crap at all. I guess I don't. I have lived without it all for 8 months, and to see it all again was sort of daunting.

I kept mostly stuff people have made or given me that I feel is special. Oh. And my comics. :-)

Anyway, what is left over is now back in the garage, which can now actually be navigated to some extent, waiting for me to clean it all (maybe another reserved weekend is in order for that, but for now, I am trying to do a little bit each night.) Hopefully it will be done and dealt with sometime soon and I can stop thinking about it/looking at it.

Oh, and we saw Blue Man Group, which was very cool.

VA Topic of the Day
(Well, actually, this was on Weds and I have just been too lazy to post until now)

Fruitcake Vs. Oatmeal raisin cookies.

The argument: Stephen asserted that they were similar enough (mostly based on the fact that they both have dried fruit in them, which he does not care for) that they could be lumped into the same category.

The counter argument: Greg and I asserted that while he may not like them both, that is about the only category that they could be lumped into together. That Fruitcake is made from a batter while the cookies are made from a dough, and that while they both have dried fruit in them, the reasons for despising fruitcake totally outweigh the reasons for not liking the cookies.

In the end, we got Stephen to capitulate. It took the better part of 1/2 hour.

RE: New Cellular Phone Laws that Go Into Effect July 1, 2008
just another example of an unnecessary law. its unfair to those of us who can carry on a decent conversation while weaving in and out of traffic at 85mph.

and you KNOW that all the cocksuckers out there driving their AMG Mercedes (from Fletcher Jones of course!) at around 1-20 mpg city 40-55 highway because they are making important business deals on the phone because they are important businesspersons, wont pay any attention to the new laws or the fact that there are 20 cars lined up behind them

on the same note, if they are going to have special restrictions on 16-18 year olds, the same should apply for anyone over 60. trust me, most of them can barely drive a car let alone use a phone at the same time

Last day of my 20's
Well, the storm is pretty nuts here and since the power was out at work, I decided to work from home. No can do. The power is now out here too as of 10ish thus morning, so I am spending the last day of my 20's reading a book, comforting panicing kitties and playing mahjong in my DS. Not how I thought it would be, but not bad either.

Call me if you need me since my phone is my only connection to the outside world.
