WOW! That was an awesome show!! They totally rocked and then totally went unplugged for a long set and then totally rocked again! William Duvall did an outstanding job taking over the lead vocals for the late Layne Staley. And then at the end James Hetfield from Metallica showed up to sing lead for 'Would?'!! That was, if not the best, then the second best concert I've ever been to.

Finished Arrested development
Finally am getting through Netflix again - had been slacking off in that area for some time now (like posting to the blog). Anyway, I fnally finished Arrested Development. HOLY SHIT that show is funny. It's all punns and sight gags and just unacknowledged rediculousness, which all of you know is just my bag, but it's hysterical. You an watch episodes here and there, but it's really a show that builds on itself and builds on itself and it makes the show funnier and funnier. If you are going to watch it, just watch all 3 seasons (there's only like 12 episodes per season and episodes are 22 minutes). The first few are sort of odd and you won't think they are very funny, but they are important to the rest of the show.
Anyway, I recommend it highly to all of the people I know. You can get realy attatched to those characters. It's really a shame that it had to get cancelled...
For those of you who don't know the plot, it's the story of a wealthy family who lost everything, and the one son who was sane enough to pull them through. The family is basicaly all totally nuts, but in a sweet way, and Jason Bateman is the only one that keeps them all from spinning out of control (in a funny way). Try it. It's fun.
Holy Crap I needed that
So, today I left at 5. That seems like a normal time to leave to everyone else, but for me, that's several hours early. I got my inbox to a place where I am not frightened of next week, and took off. There's still stuff I should do this weekend, but I think I can do most of it from home - we'll see.
Anyway, I came home and cleaned. I still have a LOT to do before I will feel under control again, but wow - what a difference a few hours can make. I did some of the things I have been putting off forever - like cleaning the carpets and such, and I feel *so* much better. I have no idea why, but cleaning makes me sainer.
I need to do this leaving at 5 thing more often, me thinks. I'll work on that.

Sorry it took me so long - been up to my ears latley...
Weekend: So, went home to see the grandma this weekend w/ CP. Grandma is A-OK. She does have to have radiation, but it's more of a just to be sure kind of thing. SHe's doing well and is perky.
Went and saw my cow on Saturday night. Drank too much. Saw Happy Feet on the IMAX (CG is outstanding, but it's not hysterical - good flick tho). Slept a good chunk of the ride back (thanks, Chris, for driving my ass all the way home).
Work: Trying to get things under control. Langston is no longer with us, but I spied an email that says he is ok and has already found something else to do. We did find his porn on the servers after he left, which was amusing. Happy trails, Langston, thanks for the last laugh.
Found a replacement for me - now just waiting for Roger to OK the final offer letter. This is taking a while, but I love the new person and am really hoping that Roger gets on it shortly. Frustration is clearly the word on that one.
Need to find a relacement for Langston. If anyone knows a GREAT web designer that can lead a pack of designers, let me know.
Things in general look managable. We launched 2 sites last week (at least 12 hour days for me all week - blech). People seem happy with my performance and that of my team.
This week: Thanksgiving. Hopefully you all will be eating our food on Thursday. Friday is Prodigy Show (Whoo Hoo!), and Sunday is Alice in chains (also Whoo Hoo!). Saturday will be me cleaning and sleeping all day, and Sunday morning is Dickins Faire. If anyone wants to go to that, let me or Amber know and we'll hook it up. It's at least usually good for some food.
Next week leads itself into December, and that means holiday madness with us. Hopefully everyone is ready for all of that!

Yep - was there. But Thanks! It was good. He read a story he wrote for some Australian book which was the answers to questions on a police report questionnaire where you couldn't see what the questions were. 60-something answers that described a story to the reader. It was awesome.
Then he read a chapter from his new book called the Graveyard book, which he only has the one chapter written for. And oddly, it's chapter 4. Anyway, that was like 45 minutes to an hour. The whole book will be made up of short stories that are vignettes of a boys life that had his parents killed when he was a toddler, so he was taken in and raised by the ghosts of a graveyard. Like the Jungle book, but in a graveyard. It was also very cool.
However, I do have an admission. It was warm, I was sleepy, I had forgotten entirely about the event until 6:30 when Chris read on Neil's blog that he was going to be in SJ and then we both remembered that we had tickets (I was still at work at this time) by the time we got in there, my adrenalin rush was finally dropping off, Neil's voice was so soothing and it was dark, so about 3/4 of the way through his reading, I took a little 10 minute nap on Chris' leg. I was woken up by Chris shaking me vigorously so I would stop snoring. *sigh* Anyway, I got to hear most of it....

Day of loss
Today I came to me effing 9:00 am meeting and the moved along to my cube before my effin 10:00 am meeting to find out that Jim H. had quit. Now, for those of you in the know, Jim is they bobblehead that I threatened to quit if they re-orged us under him. However, that kinda sucks anyway, he was a good guy at heart - I just didn;t want to work for him.
I later find out that he was on the chopping block anyway. Literaly, if he'd waited like 4 hours, he'd have gotten severence out of it.
The reason I know this is that they let Judith T go as well today. Judith is an art Director in the aisle next to me and she is he diggity-bomb. We are now down 2 managers and like 4 people in creative services and I have no idea how they are thinking they will get everything done, but, as I have learned in the harshest way latley, sometimes you have to just say "it's Not My Problem." (aka: NMP, aka: NMFP)
Anyway, it was a dark day at Shaklee today - a lot of loss. Moral is sucking. At least the rain was around to keep me saine. I worked 12 hours today though so I have a bit of a headache at this point...

Well... almost. I did have to go to SJ once over the weekend for Al and Ji's baby shower, which was pretty cool, given that it was a baby shower. Then over to Kingman for an oil change (Thanks Carl!) Other than that, I got to be up here all weekend, which hasn't happened in a while, and after all the driving back and forth I did for the wedding, I was glad to have.
I did a lot of shopping, which I am still contemplating the wisdom of, and saw Nightmare 3D again, which was awesome (again). I also got to chill for a while in the hot tub with George, Joe, and Chris, which was nice.
I managed to hurt my foot pretty badly, but I have absolutley no explanation of how it happened - my foot just started hurting, and has gotten progressively worse all weekend. I wonder if it's my shoes...
Anyway, there's my update. I'm trying to make sure I do this now that things are a little more under control here at work (knock on wood). Now I have 5 months of Neil's blog to catch up on.
