thanks for posting these. i been looking to retire my wonderfully awesome (but outdated) nokia for a couple of months now. i had just about come to my decision between some other phones and then this comes along. at least there is FINALLY a new phone available that is exclusive to my carrier, i always feel so left out

so now i am left deciding if i should just take a chance and go for it. i figure i'll either be one of the first people to be like "ZOMG SO AWESOMES!!!!1" or i'll be stuck with a phone that isnt quite right for two years. i figure its google so how bad could it be, buuut you never know. dont you guys up there have like 15 friends at least working for google who have been beta testing this for 15 months who can help me in my decision?

I'm sure you have read about the dangers of the chemical BPA, it has been all over the news for months.

I came across this guide to help you identify the types of plastics to avoid. You can see the recycling code at the bottom of the bottle. Canned foods that have plastic liners are bad too. http://www.thegreenguide.com/products/Kitchen/Plastic_Containers

#3 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is often used frequently in cling wraps for meat. However, PVC contains softeners called phthalates that interfere with hormonal development, and its manufacture and incineration release dioxin, a potent carcinogen and hormone disruptor. Vinyl chloride, the primary building block of PVC, is a known human carcinogen that also poses a threat to workers during manufacture.

#6 PS Extruded polystyrene (#6 PS; commonly known as Styrofoam) is used in take-out containers and cups, and non-extruded PS is used in clear disposable takeout containers, disposable plastic cutlery and cups. Both forms of PS can leach styrene into food; styrene is considered a possible human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. It may also disrupt hormones or affect reproduction.

#7 Polycarbonate (PC) is found in baby bottles, 5-gallon water bottles, water-cooler bottles and the epoxy linings of tin food cans. PC is composed of a hormone-disrupting chemical called bisphenol A, which has been linked to a wide variety of problems such as cancer and obesity.

If you spend 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, then spend 20 months as the governor of a state with 650,000 people, then you've got the most executive experience of anyone on either ticket, are the Commander in Chief of the Alaska military and are well qualified to lead the nation should you be called upon to do so because your state is the closest state to Russia.


If you are a Democratic male candidate who is popular with millions of people you are an "arrogant celebrity".

After 2 weeks or so of non-blogging, I guess I need to play catch-up.

Here's the skinny on topics people seem to be asking about:
London: After I ceased blogging, Deanne and I spent the remainder of my trip going to different markets, notably Camden market, which is highly recommended to anyone who reads this blog and end up in London. We also saw a bunch more museumy type stuff and did some general hanging out. Te Brittish library has an AMAZING collection of really rad stuff. I'll try and remember to post a list of stuff I saw there - for sure you should go. Overall the trip was awesome and Deanne was awesome to play tour guide all week.

Job: I now start next Monday (the 15th). I went in this last Monday to fill out paperwork and have lunch with my new crew. They seem pretty cool so far.

What I have been doing this week: Mostly, cleaning. I did some yard work and whatnot. My mom is coming this weekend so I am attempting to get the house presentable for that. I also have been slowly cleaning out more boxes in the garage from the fire, although it does not look like I have done anything so far. Been cooking. Made picatta yesterday and am making a roast chicken today. Went to the gym yesterday and had a good workout; upgraded to the larger gym with the pool, jacuzzi and steam room for $10 a month; seemed like a good idea.

Yeah, that seems like that's about it. How have you all been?

Rage tried to perform a free show outside the RNC, but the police pulled the plug. So they walked into the crowd and did a couple of songs a capella on a bullhorn! A Rolling Stone article gives details, along with a 10-minute video of the event. Here's a shorter video by a spectator:
